THE EFFECT OF VEHICLE CHARACTERISTICS ON ROAD ACCIDENTS

This book investigates the relation between car characteristics, particularly those defining handling and stability, and accident frequency. Detailed studies of accidents are used to determine the circumstances which lead to loss of control or overturning and hence show which accidents are likely to be influenced by the handling and stability characteristics of cars. It includes an analysis of accident rates by make and model of car and the effects of age and sex of driver are assessed.(a) /TRRL/
