TRAFFIC ROAD CHECKS
The police training manual explains procedures for planning and executing road checks to detect traffic violations and roadblocks to apprehend fleeting felons. This unit is limited principally to a discussion of the techniques used in traffic enforcement road checks. It describes the requirements for planning successful road checks and some of the special problems encountered in establishing roadblocks for wanted vehicles. When apprehension of a felon fleeting by motor vehicle is the purpose for a blockade or road check, special precautions are required. /Author/
