The computer increasingly plays a central part in modern traffic systems. With these advanced technical aids public transport can be improved. Improved public transport can reduce the need for private transport. Improved means of public transport such as tram, "bustaxi", personal rapid transit, dual-mode systems and the Witkar are discussed. /TRRL/
