SOLUTION FOR WAVE-INDUCED OSCILLATIONS IN HARBORS CONSIDERING ENERGY DISSIPATION
This paper deals with wave-induced oscillations considering energy dissipation in a rectangular harbor connected with a relatively narrow channel. Firstly, the transmission and reflection coefficients for the abrupt contraction and expansion in width are obtained experimentally and the energy dissipation due to breakwaters at the harbor entrance is calculated through the energy conservation law by using those coefficients. Secondly, based on such results, a solution of harbor oscillations with energy dissipation is proposed.
