HOPPER DREDGE LOADING PROBLEMS CONSIDERED
This article deals with some aspects of the hopper loading process in its relationship to distribution and loading systems, the shape of the hopper, and provisions for carrying off surplus water. The IHC loading system, deep loading system and boiling box system are featured. The deep loading system involves extending a vertical diffusor deep into the hopper, using the bed of sediment in the bottom to absorb the energy of the incoming mixture.
