DEVELOPMENT AND TEST RUN OF THE RN...M ENGINES
Sulzer's RN series of engines are gradually being superseded by the company's RN...M range, which are available with a bore of 900, 760, or 680 mm. These have a respective mcr per cylinder of 2,465, 1,765, and 1,400 kW, at 122, 122, and 150 rpm. After listing the features retained in the M range from the earlier engines, the article describes and discusses the many new features. The results of development and prototype tests on the M engines are presented and discussed. Performance and other curves are included from the various tests on 6RND90M, 7RND90M, 8RND90M, and 6RND76M engines. Order from: BSRA as No. 47,161.
