THE FUTURE OF SEAPORTS IN THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES
Two interpretations of the treaty of Rome, article 84, paragraph 2 are given which show that it is no longer possible to argue that "Sea Transport", including ports is not covered by the general rules of the treaty. A summary of points at issue and possible action towards a common seaports policy in the European communities, starting with the present position, is outlined.
