HORIZONTAL DISPLAY
The usual radar display works as a birds eye contrary to observations from the vessel's bridge at good visibility where the mariner observes other objects by their relative motion related to the horizon. The angular velocity relative to own ship gives better information in respect of collision risk. It is claimed that even radar information should be given in this form to increase safety. Proposal for display. First prototype based on digital conversion of primary information not successful.
