MATCO THAMES. "OVER THE BOW" LOADING INSTALLATION FOR MOBIL'S NORTH SEA BERYL OIL FIELD

The 51,470 GRT oil tanker has an OA length of 246.50 M, a cargo oil tank capacity (including slop tank) of 110,228 cum, and a 23,200 BHP IHI sulzer 8 RND 90 diesel engine giving a speed of 17.06 knots. A description of the gearmatic drum winches, traction winch system, control console, and electro-hydraulic power unit is given, and forecastle equipment layout is shown. Hose connecting device and mooring device for mooring hawser are discussed.
