FACTORS INFLUENCING THE CHOICE OF PROPULSION MACHINERY
The paper reviews the various types of machinery available today, and shows how they met the requirements of different types of ships. A process for establishing a philosophy for the design of control systems is outlined, and the impact of the energy crisis on future ship machinery is considered.
