GENERATION OF TRACTION CURRENT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT: THE JOINT NUCLEAR POWER PLANT
A 158-Mw railroad-owned 16-2/3 Hz turboset installed beside a three phase current generator in the joint nuclear power plant Neckar is for the first time generating traction current from nuclear energy. The article gives a survey on the layout and interaction of the most important components of the plant which is equipped with a pressurized water reactor (PWR). The operational possibilities of the power plant are described.
