AT-REST LATERAL EARTH PREASURE OF A CONSOLIDATING CLAY-DISCUSSION
Measurements were carried out by the discussors of coefficient of earth pressure at rest (Ko) on normally consolidated Kaolins possessing slightly different properties from the Kaolin used by the authors. The Ko values were determined by direct measurement by means of pressure transducers in a bin in which the clay was consolidated; direct measurement is a triaxial apparatus; and various other applications of mathematical expressions. A summary of the test results in tabulated format are included.
