EQUIPMENT FOR HIGH MAST LIGHTING
Reference is made to an association of public lighting engineers publication - technical report no 7, high mast lighting - which is a specification for the design, manufacture, assembly, erection, painting, testing and maintenance of high mast lighting systems. A survey is presented of those companies associated with the supply and installation of high mast lighting equipment. This survey includes details of the continuously tapered steel masts and associated anchor plates and base systems; the mast head assembly and lantern carriage; single and double winch gear, both self-sustaining with gear ratios of 53:1; and lanterns of several different types ranging from 400 w to 1500 w to provide symmetric or directional glare-free distributions. Illustrations are provided of typical equipment and installations.
