DYNAMIC BEHAVIOR OF PARTIALLY EMBEDDED PILE
The discussers ask for clarification of certain points relating to: the consideration of soil stiffness in analysis; the equivalent soil mass taking part in vibration; the mass density of pile material; the predicted frequency; and the empirical nature of the recommendation that for greater amplitude of vibration at penetration end the mass of the vibrator should be less than 1/3 the mass of the pile.
