FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS NEED NEW DESIGN FORMULA
The author emphasizes that flexible pavements made with Trinidad asphalt are generally outlasting conventional asphalt pavement, the quality of the base being the limiting factor for the life of Trinidad asphalt surfaces. Conventional asphalt pavements usually succumb as a result of patching and potholing. These conclusions have resulted from the study of the service life of 99 roads.
