METHOD FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION OF THE ACOUSTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF AN ENGINE EXHAUST SYSTEM IN THE PRESENCE OF MEAN FLOW
An exact analysis is made of standing waves in the presence of mean flow, applicable to low Mach numbers as obtained in the exhaust system of a reciprocating internal combustion engine. A method of evaluation is suggested, treating the exhaust pipe as an impedance tube.
