A NEW DESIGN METHOD FOR BUIRED CONCRETE PIPE
Utilizing the results from an extensive parametric study of various soil-pipe systems as obtained from the comprehensive computer program NUPIPE, a simplifed method for the design of buried concrete pipe has been developed. This paper presents the basis and development of this system design approach which yields realistic results, yet is simple and easy to use. The design method can be carried out with the aid of a pocket electronic calculator, and the design equations can be programmed for a minicomputer, or a programmable pocket calculator.
