SERVICEABILITY TESTING OF ROLLER BEARINGS: INFLUENCES ON LENGTH OF LIFE
BETRIEBSFESTIGKEITSPRUEFUNG AN RADSATZLAGERN. EINFLUESSE AUF DIE LEBENSDAUER
The useful service of roller bearings is shorter than the calculated length of life due to effects resulting from operation and maintenance. Deutsche Bundesbahn's new servo-hydraulic test stand in Minden is designed for identification and quantitative analysis of the influence of different operational conditions on the length of life. The paper describes the method and programme to be applied for testing the roller bearings, the aim being an improvement of overhauling economy and the provision of well-founded data for development purposes.
