THE HAMPTON ROADS BRIDGE-TUNNEL CONTROL SYSTEM
This system which permits two operators to observe traffic on 24 television covers about 48,000 feet of alignment which includes tunnels, bridges, and approach roadways. Details are given of the traffic surveillance and detection, safety surveillance, climate surveillance, and various aspects of equipment status. Communications within the control system are described, as well as the traffic control devices.
