ADVANCED INSTALLATION FOR TESTING CAR EXHAUST EMISSIONS

The first stage of an ultra-modern test installation for car exhaust emissions, with the capacity to perform the advanced tests required under stringent California law, has recently been taken into service at their Trollhattan works by Sweden's Saab-Scania group. It comprises four complete test rooms plus a garage for test cars. Special ventilation equipment ensures that temperature and humidity are maintained at pre-set values, and it delivers some 11000 cubic metres of air hourly. Stage two will comprise A service workshop with 20 workplaces. Construction is scheduled to take place this summer. Three 'rolling highways', where cars can be 'driven' for 80000 km without A driver, will be completed before the end of 1977.
