BUS PRIORITY EVALUATION

The role of public transport in urban areas has recently received considerable attention. Bus priority measures as a means of improving the operation and efficiency of public transport have only recently come of age in the Australian scene despite extensive overseas experience. This paper examines the case for bus priority schemes and outlines some of the factors, both qualitative and quantitative, which must be considered when contemplating the introduction of bus priority schemes. /Author/TRRL/
