A technical and economic analysis was made of transportation and distribution of methanol fuels. It appears that with minor alterations conventional facilities similar to those used at present for hydrocarbon fuels could be utilised for methanol. The analysis further indicates that (1) transportation and distribution of methanol is analogous to that of hydrocarbon fuels, except that the lower energy content of methanol will require storage and transportation of a greater weight and volume of fuel, (2) technical problems resulting from physical and chemical properties of methanol is not likely to be a large proportion of the methanol fuel cost to the consumer. /TRRL/
