DERELICT LAND
This circular aims at bringing together the information contained in a number of previous circulars about derelict land reclamation and cancels these circulars (or those parts referring to derelict land and connected matters) which are no longer applicable. The circulars cancelled are listed. In this circular the opportunity has been taken to expand and bring up to date some aspects concerned with reclamation. It is emphasised that local authorities, in their role of ensuring that the use of land is related to the best interests of the community, cannot afford to disregard any land which is not being put to useful purpose. The circular is arranged as follows: (a) enabling powers and financial assistance for the reclamation of derelict land, (b) other grants and sources of information, (c) other related matters. /TRRL/
