EVALUATION PROCEDURES FOR URBAN ARTERIAL ROAD PROJECTS
This paper describes the procedures used by the commonwealth bureau of roads to help determine the economically warranted level of expenditure on improvements to arterial roads in rural and outer urban areas. Topics covered include the updating of the road inventory to June 1974, the creation of projects by a computer model (nhupac) and the evaluation procedures. The results aided the preparation of the bureau's 'report on roads 1975' which recommended commonwealth government assistance to the states for roads for the period 1976/77 to 1980/81. /Author/TRRL/
