ENVIRONMENT, HIGHWAY AND LANDSCAPE
MILIEU WEG EN LANDSCHAP
As a result of the sharply increasing infrastructure the space use of highways is now less accepted and appreciation of the environment and landscaping is growing. From the social point of view, however, the road is a friend of the environment because it improves communication between people. When decisions are made on the design and layout of highways the multi-functionality of the space must be taken as the starting point. The measure in which other functions are influenced positively or negatively should be studied and a cost benefit analysis should be made. /TRRL/
