DESIGN FOR ENVIRONMENT--SOCIAL CHANGE AND THE NEED FOR NEW APPROACHES IN PLANNING
In the book the author argues the case for a fundamental new approach to the design and planning of urban environmental conditions. The suggested policy would help to bridge the gap between those who plan the physical environment and those who have to cope with the social problems caused by poor environmental conditions. A lack of understanding of the nature of the environment and society can result in stands being taken from isolated viewpoints instead of looking at the broader issues. It is argued for example that there should be a better understanding of the meaning of environment and the process of change. There should also be greater understanding of the relative problems of city, town and country. /TRRL/
