LIGHTING IN TWO MOTORWAY TUNNELS
BELYSNING I TVAA MOTORVAEGSTUNNLAR
The two tunnels presented are parts of a thoroughfare through the town of Uddevalla in south-western Sweden. The lighting installations are briefly described together with technical data. The design is in accordance with the CIE recommendations. The lengths of the tunnels are 375 M and 215 M respectively. Each of them consists of two separate tunnels, one for each direction. As a supplement to the artificial lighting inside the tunnels, light transmitting screens of aluminium sheets have been used to obtain an acceptable luminance level at the tunnel entrances. The length of these light screens is 50 M. The illumination inside the tunnels can be adapted to four different intensities depending on the luminance level outside. /TRRL/
