SWISS-EXPRESS COACHES OF THE FEDERAL SWISS RAILWAYS

A detailed description of the new coaches, designed to provide maximum comfort and allow high speeds on the winding Swiss railways is given. Aluminum is used very extensively both in the frame and in the cladding. Alloys used are extruded and rolled Al-Zn-Mg and rolled Al-Mg3. Welding is used throughout the structure.
