STOCHASTIC SIMULATION OF PASSENGER FLOW AT STATIONS
STOCHASTISCHE SIMULATION DES FAHRGASTFLUSSES IN HALTESTELLEN
Present methods for station planning are based on averaged empirical data. For optimizing stations with random configurations and dimensions, a stochastic simulation is described which enables all determinative parameters of passenger flow to be realistically calculated. Taking an urban rapid transit station as an example, it is shown that simulation can furnish new and important data for the layout of such stations.
