DESIGN OF FLAT LADDER AND COIL GUIDEWAY SYSTEMS FOR HIGH SPEED TRAINS
Flat guideways are considered ideal for supporting electrodynamically levitated trains which must operate in regions where significant accumulations of snow are probable. Three flat ladder and coil guideway configurations for the Canadian reference design train are discussed. The systems considered are confined to those in which magnet arrays move over parallel guideway systems comprising ladders or loops.
