STABILITY CRITERIA OF CAR FERRY BOATS
Car ferry boats have various special features in view point of stabilities compared with the other types of vessels. The reason is that they have to carry not only passengers, but also cars and vehicles which requires special cares of their designs in order to keep safety in navigation. This paper shows the result of the investigation conducted by the Ship Research Association of Japan in order to reveal the point to be considered on designing car ferry boats from the stability viewpoint.
