SHIPPING POLICY OF THE COMECON COUNTRIES
After describing the fundamental problem of the incomparability of the economic systems of the East and West, the author describes the aims and functions of the East European shipping industries and the strategies currently pursued by the Comecon countries. He examines the effects of Eastern Bloc competition and suggests possible solutions to the problem from the Western point of view.
