RELATIONS BETWEEN STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS AND LONGITUDINAL WAVE PROPAGATION VELOCITY IN ANISOTROPIC ROCKS

RELATIONS ENTRE LES CARACTERES STRUCTURAUX ET LA VITESSE DE PROPAGATION DES ONDES LONGITUDINALES DANS LES ROCHES ANISOTROPES

The study of the propagation of longitudinal waves in anisotropic rocks has led to the discovery of two types of anisotropy in the distribution of velocities; their relations with the structural characteristics of the rock are discussed, and a close correlation with the index of orientation of phyllites is demonstrated.
