GAS TURBINE POWER FOR PRODUCTS TANKER CARGO PUMPING
The 33 350 tdw products tanker "Dirk Jacob" has a length oa of 170.68 m, a beam of 25.90 m, and a draft (summer) of 11. 80 m, and is powered by a Schelde-Sulzer 6RND76 diesel engine developing 12 850 bhp at 125 rpm, giving a service speed of 16.10 knots. The most interesting feature of this ship and her two sister ships, the "Gertrud Jacob" and the "Erika Jacob" is the gas turbine powered sets developing a total 3 000 kW, providing complete pumping power on each of the three ships. This system is described as well as the method of cargo heating by a thermal fluid.
