SMALL FLEETS AND THE SBT (SEGREGATED BALLAST TANK) SYSTEM
This study summarizes an ISRI report published in September 1976. The purpose of the study was to identify the relevant economic effects of installing segregated ballast tanks in existing tankers on shipowners and on the national economy of smaller nations that operate small fleets of tankers. The Author also discusses the feasibility of implementing the SBT system in existing tankers on a worldwide scale.
