REINFORCED CONCRETE BRIDGE PIERS UNDER SEISMIC LOADING
New Zealand has long been recognised as a country of intense seismic activity. Therefore it is only natural that emphasis should be placed on seismic design. Codes of practice exist covering the seismic design procedure for bridge structures, but the requirements are based on limited experimental evidence. One particular area of concern is the effect of seismic action on circular reinforced concrete bridge piers. It is with this topic that the investigation summarised here is concerned. /TRRL/
