CARRYING AND LIFTING OPERATIONS IN THE TRANSPORT OF THE PHYSICALLY DISABLED

TRANSPORTSYSTEM FOR RORELSEHINDRADES FORFLYTTNING TILL OCH RESA MED FLYG, BUSS OCH TAG

This paper is a summary of studies and experiments aimed at facilitating the transportation of the physically disabled and those accompanying them. In the first section carrying and lifting of the physically disabled are analyzed on the basis of experimental findings and theoretical considerations as well as practical experience. The second section presents those solutions to the problem of wheel-chair design that have been subjected to practical evalaution. There is the portable seat unit of the "System wheel-chair" and the two transport wheel-chairs "Carry-right" and "Travel anywhere." /Author/
