ESTABLISHMENT OF GROUND COVERS FOR NON-MOWABLE AND LOCKED-IN AREAS ON LOUISIANA INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS

This research involved testing the various low-growing, low-maintenance ground-cover plants for their use in plantings along highways in sun and shade for areas which present problems in being unmowable or dangerous-to-mow places. Five sites were used. After 3 years of growing over 200 different groundcover plants, 21 most promising ones have been chosen for a closer study.
