THE APPLICATION OF AERIAL PHOTOGRAMMETRY AND DIGITAL TERRAIN MODELS IN HIGHWAY ROUTE DESIGN

Aimed at the application of engineering, this paper combines the technology of AP (Aerial Photogrammetry) and DTM (Digital Terrain Model) with route CAD (Computer Aided Design) to study a series of technology including data collection by AP, the processing of initial data, the calculation of route design and the output of design files. A new method for highway route design by AP and DTM is presented as well as related computer software and a complete working procedure. The software is based on the APOLLO working station and has been used in practical engineering.
