USE AND APPLICATION OF THE MCA WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO GLACIAL TILLS
Detailed test procedures are given for the use of the Moisture Condition Apparatus (MCA) to determine soil acceptability for earthworks at the ground investigation and earthworks stages of a project. Guidance is given on the particle sizes of soils which can be tested using the MCA, on the effect of large particles on the application of the MCA, on appropriate limits of acceptability, on Moisture Condition Value (MCV) precision test data, and the certification of MCA machines and operators.
