VALUE ENGINEERING PILOT PROJECT ON THE VANCOUVER ISLAND HIGHWAY PROJECT
This paper was presented at the 'Safety Audits and Value Engineering for Highway Design' session. This paper describes the formal value engineering (VE) study pilot program implemented on the Vancouver Island Highway Project during the summer of 1995. The selection of project segments and VE consultants is outlined; the results of the individual studies are provided; and recommendations for the future of VE on the Vancouver Island Highway Project are presented.
