BUILDING TALL SEGMENTAL RETAINING WALLS
It is not uncommon today to find dry-stacked concrete unit segmental retaining walls (SRWs) reaching for new heights. Increasing numbers of tall, soil-reinforced SRWs are being built by private owners, state DOTs, and the Corps of Engineers. These tall walls have grown upward from 20 to 30 feet in height, with some walls even exceeding 40 feet.
