EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION AND APPLICATION OF POROUS BITUMINOUS MIXES
This paper describes work carried out in Greece to clarify a number of problems associated with the use of porous asphalt. Tests were carried out which focussed on the mechanical properties of porous and dense asphalt mixes. The laboratory investigation consisted mainly of Marshall tests, unconfined compression, indirect tensile and creep tests. Mix design and material characteristics of a successful application are also presented. For the covering abstract see IRRD 890329.
