ATLANTIC OFFSHORE USERS WORKSHOP HELD AT CLAYTON CONFERENCE CENTER UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE, NEWARK, ON MAY 19-21, 1977
The purpose of the workshop was to focus on the Atlantic's future in specific ways. By bringing together a group of 50 ocean specialists from differing backgrounds, it was determined what first steps must be taken to protect the nearshore Atlantic without disregarding its assets. The workshop brought together commercial users of the Atlantic offshore areas, their governmental regulators and service organizations, and Sea Grant institutional representatives. The objective was to identify, and rank in priority order, the most important oceanographic and oceanographic engineering problems (or information gaps) which, if solved, could lead to better commercial use and to better resource management practices.
