COLD MIX ASPHALT COMPARISON BETWEEN FIELD RESULTS AND LABORATORY SIMULATION
The author addresses the problem of persuading clients to use cold mix materials by suggesting an approach which will offer reassurance about the performance of the technique. A description is given of a) cold mix asphalt technology, b) the determination of elastic stiffness values from site cores, c) laboratory assessment procedures and d) laboratory performance data. The merits of the laboratory procedures are discussed. Recommendations are made for future research and for encouraging the use of cold mix asphalt. For the covering abstract see IRRD 890024.
