CAD GETS SMART
Computer aided design (CAD) packages are beginning to treat roads as more than just a group of lines, and beginning to give them intelligence. The ultimate aim is to make highway design more creative and less analytical, according to the U.K. Highways Agency, but design lifecycles will be speeded up and design quality improved in the meantime.
