DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTIC OF FREEWAY TRAFFIC DEMAND AND ESTIMATION OF O-D MATRIX
In this paper, the dynamic characteristic of freeway traffic demand, which includes the change of time, vehicle random arrival and parameter estimating error, is discussed. In order to reduce the impact of the dynamic characteristic on mainline capacity, a method of dynamic demand O-D matrix is presented. Finally, the results of this method are compared with those of the computer simulation.
