EXPERIENCE WITH USE OF MICROSILICA CONCRETE EDGEBEAMS OF THE FISKEBAEK BRIDGE
ERFARINGER MED ANVENDELSE AF MIKROSILICABETON FISKEBAEKBROENS KANTELEMENTER
The edge-beams of the Fiskebaek bridge, cast in 1980-81, consist of a number of conretes with varying contents of silica fume. Petrographic investigation of thin sections from bores cores, repeated at intervals of several years, showed complex changes in micro-structure. Tests on cast cylinders showed 28-day strengths of 50-100 MPa. Investigation of chloride penetration in bored cores showed that the penetration process involves factors other than chloride diffusion.
