AN ADVANCED INTEGRATION METHOD OF DIGITAL MAP FROM MAP RESOURCES OF VARIOUS FORMATS

Recently digital maps have been used in many fields including in-vehicle navigation systems, traffic operation control systems, and traffic information systems. However, data resources in such maps contain different typs of information in different formats depending on usage and scales. Thus the application program especially developed for a certain resource cannot be applied to other resources. As a solution to this problem, a method is designed which intelligently integrates map data resources in different formats for advanced application of digital maps. As an actual example, this paper presents development and deployment process of logic for automatically making existing road network data more precise by referring to another larger scaled and detailed map in a different format.
