VARIABLE MESSAGE SIGN (VMS) INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE CONTROL STRATEGIES IN AALBORG
This paper describes some of the work conducted within the QUO-VADIS project for the development of a Variable Message Sign (VMS) information and guidance system at the Aalborg site. The employed control strategy is based on simple automatic control concepts with decentralized feedback loops. Description of the approach used and development of the automatic control strategy are presented along with off-line simulation results. The simulation studies demonstrate the potential improvements achievable with these kinds of control measures and control strategies.
